Wexler’s BBQ Restaurant by Aidlin Darling Design
Bridging the gap between the historic facade and the new interior space within, Aidlin Darling Design designed Wexler’s barbeque restaurant with an incredible undulating ceiling that is evocative of both charred wood and a plume of smoke. Created out of laser cut MDF and painted black, this ceiling installation billows through a refined palette of zinc and rift-sawn oak before emerging as the restaurant’s entry canopy.

BLD Restaurant Toronto by 1point0
A modern interpretation of a traditional New York diner, 1point0 has designed a trendsetting restaurant that has the ability to evolve from a breakfast and lunch interior to a chic dining and lounge establishment at night. With a design concept based on the slicing and juxtaposition of materials, 1point0 created a space with simple and modern volumes and then sliced away the surfaces to reveal new spaces and materials.

15th Avenue Coffee & Tea by Starbucks Coffee Co.
Repurposed and reimagined, Starbucks has gone back to basics with the launch of their 15th Avenue E Coffee and Tea store. The first of three experimental stores in Seattle, this Capitol Hill location loses the ubiquitous Starbucks branding and adopts the ambience of a traditional neighborhood coffeehouse. Completely gutted and redesigned using a plethora of recycled, reclaimed and refurbished eco-friendly materials, this old store is now primed and ready to play neighborhood host to live music and poetry readings.
