Soapstone from Brazil by Soapstone International

Soapstone-from-Brazil-by-Soapstone-International_001

A metamorphic rock that consists of talc, steatite, magnesite, quartz, and other magnesium rich minerals, soapstone can vary in degrees of hardness and texture. Unlike marble or granite, soapstone is non-porous and never needs sealing. Soapstone comes in two base colors: green gray and blue gray. With the optional application of mineral oil, the stone becomes a deeper shade of charcoal or black. Soapstone International recommends personally selecting your stone because of the variations found in a natural quarry stone.
