Modern-Vintage-Drawer-Furniture-by-schubLaden_001

Taking its name from the German word for "drawers",schubLaden is a unique shop in the Berlin-Kreuzberg´s Graefedistrict that is devoted solely to creating new furniture from unmated vintage drawers. A wonderful mix of modern and antique, schubLaden designs and builds shells to encapsulate the repurposed drawers. In order to contrast with the rich patina of the drawers these shells are designed to be minimalist in nature. Each unique furniture piece is signed, numbered and features drawers that tell a story all their own.

Contemporary Handmade Wood Furniture by David Trubridge

Contemporary-Handmade-Wood-Furniture-by-David-Trubridge_001

David Trubridge is a designer from New Zealand whose practice is based on a deep understanding of materials, gained through decades of hand-crafting furniture. His concern for sustainability and preservation of the environment has led him to work exclusively with low impact, natural materials. Inspired by the age old tradition of boat making that still exists in nearby Pacific cultures, his signature pieces feature American white ash fixed over internal frames of hoop pine. With fabulous sculptural lines, each is a unique piece of art.
