Charlotte Square is a city square in Edinburgh, Scotland that was designed in 1791 by Scottish architect Robert Adam. Like many of the buildings built during this period, Charlotte Square found itself slowly slipping into decline. In 2004, Geoffrey Preston was commisioned by Walter Scott to restore and install new decorative plasterwork ceilings based on Adam's original designs. With an amazing eye for detail, Geoffrey Preston is regarded as one of the UK’s leading sculptors specializing in decorative plasterwork for interiors.
